ICRCCM Cases
Benchmark cases were run on a clear sky
and two homogeneous overcast cloud cases. In each case a smoothed
version of McClatchey et al.'s (1972) tropical atmosphere (TRO) was used.
Carbon dioxide mixing ratio was set to 360 ppm. The clouds were asummed
to constituted of pure liquid spherical droplets (re = 10 micrometers).
The cosine of the solar zenith angle was set to 0..25, 0.50 or 1.00.
Low Cloud Case : the layer between 3.5 and 4.0 km was
filled with a uniform overcast cloud with
qc = 0.159 g/kg.
High Cloud Case : the layer between 10.5 and 11.0 km was
filled with a uniform overcast cloud with
qc = 0.034 g/kg
